The Society for Concentric Hexagons (With Alternate Geometries) would like to draw your attention to downtown Cotati, California. Have you ever noticed the streets around La Plaza Park make…you guessed it…a hexagon? Actually two concentric hexagons, to be precise.

North Bay Burners and Snarky Arts will be celebrating this little known yet popular fact this spring. Please join us for the inaugural food drive and shopping cart race known as the Cotatitarod on Saturday, April 29th, 2017. This is an all ages event.

Part pub crawl, part costume contest, part charitable event, and all fun. Teams of five will compete for prizes and glory by racing along the hexagonal route, hitting checkpoints along the way. Trivia questions will be asked! Stupid human tricks will be performed! Want to know more? Read on!

Get together a team of five people. Come up with a theme and make costumes that match your decorated shopping cart. Collect 60lbs of food to donate per team. Know where you can get your own shopping cart? Great. Please don’t steal them. You can beg them or borrow them, that’s fine. If you can’t find a shopping cart we will let you borrow one of ours (we are borrowing them from Oliver’s Market the day of the event. Thanks Olivers!) and you can decorate it the morning of the race.

There is a list of things that Redwood Empire Food Bank needs donated, please give them the things on this list. Hungry people of Sonoma County thank you! Want to make a donation to the REFB? Go here!

Register your team! Fill out the nifty form to get you started. A detailed racer packet with much information can be yours. Click here to register now.

Show up the day of the race and check in! Bring your 60lbs of food per team as your entry fee! Run the race, run I say. Hush you muskies! Run! Collect your awards and glory at the Finish Line in La Plaza Park at the stage where you will be congratulated for a job well done. Afterparty will be at the Flagship Taproom off the park.

Don’t want to run the race but still want to help out? You can volunteer! Be a Bike Marshall and help keep the cats herded and the racers safe in traffic. Help with setup and breakdown, and make sure we Leave No Trace in the park. Make a tax deductible donation!

Be a vendor! There is limited space for booths to set up and show off their wares. Get yours today! Or you can be a sponsor! So many ways to support this awesome event. C’mon, you know you wanna. Email northbay (at) burningman (dot) org to find out how.
